Scotland Trip 2023
Got back a few days ago from a 12 day long trip to Scotland. I went with my mom and brother. We flew into Glasgow, spent two days there, then rented a car drove up A80 to Inverness, spent the night there, then drove to the Orkney islands, spent two days there, then drove to Edinburgh and spent three days there. Was a tiring trip. I don't know why but I feel like it was underwhelming. I think I overresearched it and overplanned it. Then when I actually got there it didn't live up to expectations. Next time I think I am going to not plan as much but learn more about the country in general. Read some books, watch some movies and learn about the people instead of planning every day out. This trip has also confirmed that I prefer the calm rolling hills over the hustle and bustle of a big city when on vacation.
