7.9/10 I liked this book. Knausgård did a good job drawer a reader into his daily life and making it interesting. He has the ability to make mundane things interesting and makes the reader want to do said things even though the averager reader has done the things countless times before. Buying soda, getting a coffee, going to work early to avoid your pregnant wife. All things that Knausgaard writes extremely well. EDIT 4-3-22: Wow I just wrote another blog post about The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and came back to this post. It is vivid still in my mind reading about how Karl cooked a meal at his grandmother's house and drank sprite and vodka with his brother and grandmother. Such a simple topic but so well written. Bravo. I guess I will have to read the others. |
